OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational Therapists support children and families to build the confidence, skills, and independence in everyday activities that are meaningful to them. At Functional Therapy Co, we support a range of different developmental needs and diagnoses for children aged 0 and up to 18 years of age.

Fine Motor
Fine motor skills require intrinsic muscles in the hand, visual processing, and planning skills in order to complete tasks such as dressing, writing, cutting, and using cutlery.

Play
Engaging in play is one of the most important skills and foundation for learning. Play helps children to develop problem solving, attention, and develop their creativity and imagination.

Emotional Regulation
Whether your child is at the co-regulation or self-regulation stage, Functional Therapy provides a range of different intervention approaches to support yours and your childs ability to understand and process their emotions, and develop strategies to support their regulation.

Executive Functioning
Executive functioning skills are a complex area that are often impacted by neurodevelopmental diagnoses. This includes difficulties with planning, organisation, prioritising, memory, task initiation, and emotional control.

Sensory Processing and Interoception
Sensory processing is the way our brains process and interpret the sensory information around us from our 8 sensory systems.

Handwriting
Handwriting is a complex task that requires a huge number of skills to achieve competency. This includes letter knowledge, letter formation, sitting letters on the line, spacing, and sizing.
